Welcome to Boiling Lake Tours Dominica. By accessing our website or making a booking, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. About Us

Boiling Lake Tours Dominica is a licensed tour operator based in Dominica, West Indies, offering guided hiking tours to the Boiling Lake and surrounding natural attractions. Our lead guide, Elvis, has over 30 years of experience leading tours in the Valley of Desolation and Morne Trois Pitons National Park.

2. Bookings & Payments

• All bookings are subject to availability and confirmed only upon receipt of payment.
• You may choose to pay the full amount or a 20% deposit to secure your booking, with the remaining 80% balance due in cash on the day of the tour.
• Payments are processed securely via PayPal. We do not store your payment card details.
• Prices are quoted in USD and are subject to change without notice until a booking is confirmed.
• A booking confirmation email will be sent to the address provided at checkout.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

• Cancellation by Guest: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the tour date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours are non-refundable.
• Deposit Bookings: Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours of the tour date.
• Cancellation by Us: In the event we must cancel due to unsafe weather conditions, natural hazards, or unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost.
• Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method.

4. Tour Participation & Health Requirements

• The Boiling Lake hike is a strenuous 7–8 hour round trip covering approximately 13 km of rugged terrain. Participants must be in good physical health.
• By booking, you confirm that you are physically fit and have no medical conditions that would prevent safe participation.
• We reserve the right to refuse participation to any guest who appears unfit or poses a safety risk to themselves or others.
• Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and are subject to guide approval.
• Appropriate footwear (hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes) is mandatory. Guests in inappropriate footwear may be refused entry to the trail.

5. Liability & Risk

Hiking in Dominica's rainforest and volcanic terrain involves inherent risks including but not limited to:

• Slippery and uneven trail surfaces.
• Exposure to volcanic gases near the Boiling Lake and Valley of Desolation.
• Rapidly changing weather conditions.
• Wildlife encounters.

By booking a tour, you acknowledge these risks and agree to participate at your own risk. Boiling Lake Tours Dominica, its guides, and affiliates shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from tour participation, except where caused by our gross negligence.

6. Conduct & Responsibilities

• Guests must follow all instructions given by the guide at all times.
• Disruptive, disrespectful, or dangerous behaviour may result in removal from the tour without refund.
• Guests are responsible for bringing adequate water (minimum 2 litres), snacks, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing.
• Please respect the natural environment — no littering, no picking plants, and no disturbing wildlife.

7. Photography & Media

By participating in a tour, you grant Boiling Lake Tours Dominica a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use photographs or videos taken during the tour for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform your guide at the start of the tour.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and tour descriptions, is the property of Boiling Lake Tours Dominica and may not be reproduced without written permission.

9. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Dominica. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dominica.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
